Full redesign of the National Lottery app for iOS and Android. For release December 2024

The National Lottery app required a redesign to align with updated brand guidelines and enhance usability. The project spanned every interaction and screen, covering ux research, ui design, prototyping, testing, accessibility, and the creation of a Figma component library with design tokens, along with comprehensive documentation and developer handoff.

With over 1 million users of varying technological comfort and accessibility needs, our challenge was to enhance the user experience while preserving the app’s core structure. We also needed to conduct extensive user research and produce thorough documentation for an app that processes significant daily revenues.

Solution

Our approach focused on balancing innovation with familiarity by mapping the original app and analysing its user flows for improvements. While maintaining the overall user journeys, we elected to make targeted updates within individual flows, from minor tweaks to more substantial changes. We would also refresh the design of every screen and interaction to align with the brand’s updated visual language.
